A silicone sealant used around exterior windows should be clearly positioned for windows, doors, exterior walls, glazing joints, or general outdoor construction sealing.
A general-purpose weatherproof silicone sealant may be suitable for perimeter joints around window frames, non-structural glass joints, and connections between frames and walls. However, a general sealing product should not automatically be described as a structural glazing sealant.

These figures help buyers evaluate application behavior on vertical window and exterior wall joints. The 0.5-hour value refers to surface drying, not complete curing. Full curing still depends on joint dimensions, temperature, humidity, and site conditions.
Window assemblies move because of temperature changes, material expansion, installation tolerances, and daily operation. A cured sealant therefore needs sufficient elasticity to accommodate normal joint movement without immediately losing adhesion.
The SY-9700 technical indicators report an elastic recovery rate of 86% and a tensile modulus of 0.7 MPa at 23°C. Its water-soaked tensile adhesion test is recorded as “no damage.” The product sheet also reports no damage after its cold-drawing and hot-pressing adhesion test.
These results provide parameter-based evidence for discussing adhesion stability. They should not be rewritten as guarantees of permanent waterproofing or complete leakage prevention.
