Project Overview
A 36-story Grade A commercial complex with unitized concealed glass curtain walls. The total curtain wall area is 42,000 square meters. Located in an area prone to heavy rain and typhoons, with significant temperature differences and high wind pressure loads. The structure must be safe for bonding + 50 years of weather-resistant waterproofing. To prevent water seepage, cracking of sealant joints, and yellowing of coated glass due to corrosion.

Challenges and Difficulties
In coastal areas, salt fog erosion occurs, and ordinary adhesives start to detach and leak after 1-3 years;
The temperature causes large thermal expansion and contraction displacements, and low elastic adhesives are prone to cracking;
The concealed glass curtain walls have no mechanical fixation, and the sealant bears all the structural loads, requiring extremely high safety standards.

Dual-source Solution
Use the dual-source SY series silicone structural sealant + weather-resistant sealant in combination: neutral curing formula, does not corrode aluminum materials and LOW-E coated glass; ±25% high displacement capacity, suitable for curtain wall deformation; resistant to ultraviolet rays, salt fog aging, all tests for compatibility and adhesion are qualified.
Implementation Results

The entire curtain wall was completed and accepted, with all air tightness, water tightness, and wind pressure resistance standards met; after 8 years of typhoon season and alternating cold and hot seasons, the sealant joints did not crack, fall off, or leak water, the exterior facade remained intact and beautiful, significantly reducing the later maintenance costs, and becoming a benchmark material selection case for local office building curtain walls.
